The throwing sessions are held outside, in the grassy grounds of the Scout Hut, so:
- Wear something warm, in the winter months, and preferably waterproof; this is Scotland, after all.
- Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty: when the knives and ‘hawks don’t stick into the target, they end up on the floor, and you’ll transfer moisture and dirt from the ground to your hands when you pick them up.
- Wear a hat, in the summer months, when you’re standing in the sun for a couple of hours facing the same way. Sunscreen might not be a bad idea if it’s really warm.
Make sure that your footwear is suitable for uneven ground and long, wet grass:
- No open-toed shoes; we don’t want injuries if you drop something on your foot.
- No high heels
